Amtastic. What Does It Mean To Me?

Amtastic!

What a funny and fun word. Amtastic (of course) is a combination and "am" and "fantastic" but what does it really mean? To me, it means the reality that I am fantastic, always. That my being has been fantastic since day one, from my first breath. For the first 30 years of my life I lived under a cloud. A cloud of self doubt, of disappointment and sadness. I was so critical of everything I did, what I looked like, whether I was smart enough or pretty enough. I surrounded myself with people who reinforced the lies I told myself about myself. I didn't have a lot of quality relationships and I didn't love who I was in the slightest.

It took a lot of bad relationships and many hours of crying to find myself in the middle of the desert looking for an answer outside myself. I was looking for love in all the wrong places. And then I met an angel. A beautiful vibrant enthusiastic woman who laughed and bursted with joy every minute of the day. My God, I thought, how do I get to be that happy?

I spent two days with this wondrous woman 20 years ago and it forever changed my life. She gave me the very keys to what I had been longing for but could never find. She gave me myself. She taught me that I was fantastic and over the next 10 years she taught me to teach others the same thing. It has been 20 years since the day I started on my way to understanding that I am "amtastic" and I have never been happier.
